The Leadership of First Presbyterian Church

First Presbyterian Church follows the reformed tradition and belongs to the Presbyterian Church (USA). The church is governed in accordance with the Constitution of the denomination, consisting of the Book of Order (BOO) and the Book of Confessions (BOC). The BOC guides the church in its' interpretation of scripture. The BOO provides the framework of procedures under which the local church and the denomination operate.

The BOO call for three elected and ordained offices to lead and govern the local church. They are the Pastors, the Elders, and the Deacons. In the Presbyterian Church, the Pastors and Elders serve with equal authority in leading the word and ministry of the congregation.

Beyond the local church, FPC of Inverness is a member of the Presbytery of Tampa Bay and the Synod of South Atlantic.
