Welcome and Announcements
Prelude “Sicilianna” Vincent
Let the music of the Prelude lead you into God’s presence and let all conversation be with Him alone. Peace be with you from God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ.
Choral Introit (Summer Choir)
Call to Worship (responsive)
I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go to the house of the Lord.”
There is a feeling of life and wholeness here that we need for living.
There is a sense of Christ’s presence here that renews our spirits.
Let us rejoice in His presence and sing the glories of His name!
*Hymn#341 “Blessed Assurance, Jesus Is Mine!”
*Prayer of Confession(unison)
Almighty God, we live by faith, but only so far. We maintain hope, but only to a point. We readily forgive, if it appears a necessity. We love compassionately, when convenient. We give sacrificially, if it is not too costly. Called to discipleship, we are bound by our selfishness. Commissioned to gospel proclamation, we are barricaded by our narrowness. Commanded to love, we are surrounded by reluctance. Pardon, Lord, our pale performance. Strengthen us to do Your will with flexible faith and brave trust for Jesus’ sake. Amen.(followed by a period of silent confession)
*Assurance of Pardon (responsive)
God knows the hearts of men and women, youth and children.
If we pray in sincerity, God will hear our prayers.
God will hear from heaven and will forgive our sins.
Let us rejoice in the power of forgiven sins! Amen.
